Police said it had nothing to do with Khalistani extremism... no terror charges, no political motive. CSIS has never said Pakistan’s spying agency is backing these groups in Canada. That part was made up. The Sikh referendums here are legal, and no one running them has been charged with promoting violence. 

Even the UK report they quoted has been called out by MPs and watchdogs for being biased junk, and the UK government backed away from it. Canada already bans real terror groups like Babbar Khalsa. But lumping in peaceful Sikh groups just because you don’t like their politics? That’s lazy and dangerous. What about free speech? I talked to a guy from India last year. The funny thing is that he said the only Kalistan movement that still exists is in Canada. It's died down in India to the point where it's about the same as the Cascadia movement. 

It's a sticking point where our politicians have supported the Khalistani movement, and that the movement has grown in Canada. 

Imagine the US supporting and talking about an independent Yukon. With loads of expat Canadians living in the US protesting for freedom. Meanwhile in Canada there is no political movement.

That's how he described it, not sure if that's accurate, but he said the Khalistani movement started in the 80's, went through some turbulent times, and is today has effeectively been resolved on both sides.

Carney was smart inviting India, to show Modi that it better relax its attacks on Canada, as our star rises within the G7. Carney is orchestrating a united alliance of democratic countries to trade with. As Russia's trading relationship with India is being choked with new sanctions, Modi is aware that the G7 may be his best option and forging a good relationship with Carney is the better strategy.
